New pregame video

As we sit here and wait to go out for a bit of football practice, I thought I'd tick off a few more of you by posting a video produced by the University of Georgia.

Alas, this is not based on a Miley Cyrus tune. Far from it.

It's the new pregame theme song for Bulldog home games, a hip-hop diddy that goes with highlights from last season.

You can find it on markricht.com, or on Youtube.

They were playing the song - at full blast - inside Sanford Stadium on Tuesday before the scrimmage. Judging by the ringing in my ears, you may also heard it if you live in, say, western Wisconsin.

Judge for yourself whether you enjoy it.

I'm generally NOT a big Rap/Hip-Hop fan, but I gotta say... I really like this - I've heard/watched it several times now and think it's gonna be a crowd favorite - G.... E.... O.... RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
G..... I..... A......

Lyrics are cheezy and stupid. If they wanted to go the hip hop route, just pick a good beat from a rap song and remove the lyrics. Pay the royalties, pick some classic big time plays through the years and be done with it. Or better yet, just play some of Mr. Munson's classic calls. That will pump the crowd up more than anything. This song isn't as bad as the other lame attempt, but it certainly isnt good either.

That is terrible.

Notice that we never recovered a fumble that we forced. That should hopefully change this year. Go Dawgs.

This is not replacing Babe O'Reily right?

the beat in the song is horrible.
Lyrics are nothing but trash talking every other team, which isn't really very classy. If you want to get the team fired up, then play some good beats and then drop some hobnail boot calls over them as Anon said in an earlier post. That would be much better than young jizzy or what ever deuschbag wrote that song.

BUT....If the 18 -22 year old players like it and it pumps them up enough to win all our home games, then I'm fine with any song in the world

haha...the song is hilarious! It makes last year look good! They should make an alternate video with all the turnovers from last year to the tune of the Florida fight song...I think that might get them going?

This just in, AJ Green is better than everyone else.

This is horrible (mentioning two SEC schools UGA won't face this season??) and I don't think 90K+ fans screaming are going to improve it any.

This is terrible, awful and stupid. The lyrics are about as cheezy as you can get. I love the idea mentioned above of a song with Munson's calls and even Howard's from some of the more recent great plays being played over the music. I seriously doubt anybody strapping on pads is getting ready to play to this song. Seth, who do we e-mail and ask not to play this before games. I'm not a POD fan, but at least that song worked, this is awful.

Please tell me this is a joke? Do the players really get pumped to this? I will shake my head if I hear this in the stands. It's not that I dont like Rap its just cheesy and dumb.

I love this video. I loved Larry Munson but quite frankly I want something more modern. Sure the lyrics are cheesy because well you know how sensitive the old lame fans are.

If I were a high school recruit and I had to chose between Alabama and UGA, Alabama would get the nod because this highlight film is horrible. AJ is obviously amazing. But the 85% of the highlights shown were against Vandy, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and some D-IAA.

This video is horrible. I understand going with more modern music, to appeal to a younger crowd. Besides barely understanding what the rapper is saying during the video, it seems that the video could incorporate some tradition into it.

Quite possibly the worst rap song I have ever heard. I REALLY hope this is a sick joke because this will take the wind out of my sails when I see it standing in the student section next year. Munson gave me goosebumps, POD got me pumped, and Krypton Fanfare (4th Qtr music) makes me shudder, but this makes me want to throw a paper bag on my head.

I must say that I'm not a fan of the song, but if it pumps the PLAYERS, then I don't care what they play in the stadium. I don't care what pumps me or the crowd up. Sure, its relatively important, but what is more important? I highly doubt that "In the Air Tonight" and Baba O'Riley" are pumping up our players. Not to mention, as a student, it got really old listening to those same old songs before the games for years in a row. Can we try something new and different? Please? Also, I know tradition is important, but sometimes you have to move on. This isn't the best song, but I'm glad they are moving into that genre so the players can enjoy what is being blasted in the stadium as well.

I like it. You can hate on it, but I can promise you then when it's played in the stadium people are going to get fired up, and that's the point. I don't think you're really going to be able to hear the lyrics all that much anyways.

I hope at the end of the season someone compiles an awesome AJ Green highlight video of his career at Georgia.

Where is the Branden Smith reverse or Boykin's kick returns in this video?

The song is pretty weak. I hope they still do "It's Saturday in Athens" for the pregame video. I also enjoy the "Baba O'Reilly" pregame video but hey, I am 40 so what do I know?
