Crisis averted: Murray practices

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, who sat out last week’s lighter practices, was a full-go on Monday, when the Bulldogs practiced in full pads.

Murray has been dealing with a bruised sternum and bruised knee, which he suffered at Auburn.

“He practiced and he did a pretty good job,” head coach Mark Richt said in a statement. “There’s a difference between practice and playing, so we’ll have to see if he continues to improve.”

Georgia tailback Washaun Ealey said Murray “looked good” – but mostly at the end of practice.

“He was coming out a little banged up, so he just came out a little edge today,” Ealey said. “But he got all that worked out. He looked good towards the end of practice.”

(Incidentally, the above headline is meant to be sardonic. It didn't ever appear Murray was in any real danger of not playing against Georgia Tech. He would probably have to get injured in practice later this week for that to change.)

Please don't end blog posts in the jinxing manner in which you ended this one. Other than that, the blog has been great lately.

Thanks for the good news, Seth. Keep up the great work. The next few weeks should be pretty interesting. I've already started hearing rumors regarding imminent coaching changes. For now, let's just get into a darn bowl game!

What kind of rumors, CSA?

Thank you for all your hard work. This is not exactly the best season to start covering our dawgs.

Bobo to step down as OC to Qb coach only. Hiring high-profile OC. Tony ball to be let go. Van Halenger out. Arizona Cardinals S&C coach (former dawg) coming in.

I'm hearing from a well placed source Garner is gone...nothing on Bobo though.

I'm hearing Christ is making his much anticipated return to work on the S&C. While CMR should be ecstatic, I hope this S&C change fares better for our players than it did CJC back in the day.

Is anyone here actually hearing anything from reliable sources? I have seen many people at many different places say coaching changes are about to be made. This year more than any other I have seen random post on message boards come true so you never know.

I would imagine that if there were changes they would only be on the offensive side and s&c. Hopefully Bobo would stay on as the QB coach. He's pretty good at that and it would be good for recruiting if Bobo wasn't completely gone.

Grantham has done a pretty good job so far so I couldn't imagine him being fired. After one year we are already a top 20-25 defense. I could see Garner being fired but he is also our recruiting coordinator so that could have a very negative effect on us. I could also see Van Halenger being replaced but who else other than the whole offensive staff could be fired?
