A.J. Green sympathizes with Cam Newton
A.J. Green has been through the public glare of an NCAA investigation, so he knows what Cameron Newton feels like.
So even though Green’s Georgia football team will square off with Newton and Auburn next week, Green feels a measure of sympathy for the Auburn quarterback.
“Just one of the worst feelings you can have, when you’re a great player and you’ve got that hanging over your head, and you’ve got people asking you,” Green said after Saturday’s 55-7 win over Idaho State. “You don’t wanna go out, you’ve got people asking you about that, what’d you do. It’s the worst feeling.”
Green was suspended the first four games of this season after the NCAA found that he sold a jersey to someone it defined as an agent.
The NCAA has been investigating Newton’s recruitment, a fact that became public on Thursday. Newton is considered the Heisman Trophy front-runner, and the Tigers are ranked No. 2 in the country.
“All I’ve got to say to him: You’ve got to keep your head strong, keep his focus,” Green said. “You’ve gotta keep playing. That’s the only thing that’s gonna help him, if he keeps playing. Because if he goes out there and has a bad game, they’re gonna try and blame that on that, or something like that. But that’s one of the worst feelings.”
A few other postgame notes from the Georgia locker room:
- UGA school president Michael Adams made a point of shaking defensive coordinator Todd Grantham's hand. Adams briefly interrupting Grantham's media session to offer his congratulations.
Grantham, of course, spent last week being criticized for the choke gesture he made against Florida.
- Head coach Mark Richt didn't have an update on nose tackle Kwame Geathers, who left the game with an ankle injury. Receiver Logan Gray took a shot to the jaw also. He does expect receiver Kris Durham, who missed the game with a bruised lung, to be ready for the Auburn game.

This season has been a very strange one to say the least.
I was just looking through some stats. So far this season we are averaging 33.8 ppg and are allowing 19.4 ppg. Those are both the best offensive and defensive numbers we have put up in a few years. Both of those are better then 07 when we might of been the best team in the nation.
Very strange season. When we lose it's close when we win it's a blowout.
It might be because we have not beat a team with a winning record.
Way to go, President Adams! Nice show of support there.
Rick Schwarz will not be at the game. Anymouse is rick's friend.

Have not beat a team with a Winning record ?
1-8 Idaho State
2-7 Louisiana Lafayette
2-7 Vandie
3-6 vols
5-5 Kentucky
15-33 combined record all teams win
3-6 Colorado beat us
Willb points out we are doing better on offense and better on defense than 2007; and, as to whether or not CMR was the best team in the nation 2007, I offer up Willb :
Told me CMR shafted 2007 out of NC despite loss 6-6 no bowl SC
Told me CMR shafted 2007 out of NC despite blow-out vols
Out of our own Division of our Own Conference early on
But, you think CMR was NC 2007
Beat no one in 2007, not 1 great team
LSU 2007 lost to 8-5 Arky who beat SC beat 8-5 Missy St beat # 1 LSU
LSU 2007 lost to 8-5 Kentucky who beat 8-5 Arky 8-5 Fl Atl beat 7-6 Fl St # 1 LSU
LSU 2007 beat # 15 Auburn beat # 13 Fl beat # 12 vols beat # 9 Va T beat # 5 Ohio St
UGA 2007 beat # 15 Auburn beat # 13 Fl beat # 19 Hawaii
But CMR was jobbed and Les Miles not as good
CMR deserves NC 2007 not LSU you run in here and brag
B.S.
LSU had better 2 losses than our 2 losses 2007
LSU lost to Kentucky and Arky 2007
Kentucky 2007 beat 8-5 Arky
Kentucky 2007 beat 8-5 Florida Atlantic
Kentucky beat 7-6 FSU 2007
Kentucky beat # 1 LSU
Kentucky 8-5
Arky beat South Carolina 2007 who we lost to 2007
Arky beat # 1 LSU 2007
Arky beat 8-5 Missy State 2007
Arky 8-5.
By direct contrast, 2007 CMR lost to 6-6 South Carolina who did not even play in any bowl game.
2007 CMR also was BLOWN-OUT by the vols.
ON WINS 2007 COMPARE LSU UGA :
CMR 2007 beat :
# 13 Florida
# 15 Auburn
# 19 Hawaii
Les Miles 2007 beat :
# 13 Florida
# 15 Auburn
# 13 vols
# 9 Virginia Tech
# 5 Ohio State
Les Miles 2007 LSU beat 2 Top 10 Final AP Poll teams.
CMR 2007 beat none.
Worse Losses 2007 CMR UGA
Better Wins 2007 Les Miles LSU
How does that make us MAYBE BETTER than LSU ?
BuLLdawg, You say LSU had "better losses" and "better wins" than us in 2007?A win is win and loss a loss. You know that , that's why you keep listing teams like Boise and TCU and Hawaii as examples of teams better than UGA the last 5 years? Are their "wins better" intheir weak conferences? You're the BS artist or you are a fan of another team you just likes to agitate on another teams blog. Which is it?
FOS
A loss is a loss, what total B.S.
Losing to Colorado is not the same as losing to Auburn.
Auburn is # 2 in the nation and has beat everyone.
Colorado is 3-6 and sucks.
FOS
A win is win. What total B.S.
A win over 1-8 Idaho State is worthless.
A win over these is also worthless :
3-6 Colorado
1-8 Idaho State
2-7 Vandie
3-6 vols
5-5 Kentucky
That is why there are
BAD LOSSES
GREAT WINS
You are a CMR apologist.
Nothing else.
BuLLdawg,Bama is obviously not elite anymore. They lost to 5-3 South Carolina who lost to a 5-5 Kentucky team. And Florida is not elite anymore either because they lost to Bama who lost to South Carolina who is 5-3 who lost to Kentucy who is 5-5.Florida lost to Miss St.! Saban was preseason number one and obviously can't coach them. Gotta be coaching, everybody knows they got roster full of 4 and 5 star recruits.Florida too.MISS STATE for Gods sake. They can't coach them up.Before the season started they had players in trouble with agents.Lost control of the players.Meyer too. Look at their arrests.Murder threats? Wow just wow.Florida is just a mislabel SEC team now.Saban has had 14 different coaching jobs and never stayed anywhere longer than 5 years, next year will be 5 At Bama.He has one foot out the door already,he's a coaching nomad, loyal to the highest bidder.Meyer has health problems, real or hypochondriac, who knows?Bama and Florida both get outplayed regularly in the second half.Shoot they almost let Georgia come back from 2 touchdowns.Sounds like poor conditioning. And playcalling? You've got the returning Heisman winner and can't get him the ball? That's coaching.Bad coaching.Sure they've won championships but they're just average now.Richt won 2 national championships at Fl. State and was runner-up in 2007 and number 3 in 2002.Saban has a lower Winning percentage than Richt after coaching 5 years in Big ten!Saban and Meyers time has passed.Spurrier? Better retire. Tarnishes coaching legacy with every blowout loss.
BuLLdawg, yesterday you listed Boise and TCU as having better records than UGA last 5 years.Quick, name their "good wins" and don't give me Va.Tech cause we beat them in last 5 years too.Heck we beat Boise.Bad.And don't get too shook up, you listed Colorado as a win above.Your blogging comments are surely not on elite level, try 1-AA blog.
Georgia Bulldogs :
# 54 Total Offense 2010 Georgia Bulldogs
CMR Era Average NCAA Total Offense all 10 years # 52
We are worse on Offense this year, than usual.
# 15 Total Defense 2010 Georgia Bulldogs
The problem exactly as I said before the season started, while all of you were in here BRAGGING how Georgia has 10 of our 11 Starters BACK this 2010 season, is our
OFFENSIVE PROBLEMS
Not our Defense.
I told you that.
There is NO SPIN
You can put on this :
57-4 Boise State last 5 years Chris Petersen
54-10 Florida last 5 years Urban Meyer
52-9 Ohio State last 5 years Jim Tressel
52-10 TCU last 5 years Gary Patterson
49-13 Texas last 5 years Mack Brown
49-15 Oklahoma last 5 years Bob Stoops
49-12 Southern California last 5 years
48-13 Utah last 5 years Kyle Whittingham
48-14 LSU last 5 years Les Miles
48-15 Virginia Tech last 5 years Frank Beamer
47-14 BYU last 5 years Bronco Mendenhall
46-15 Penn State last 5 years Joe Paterno
46-15 Wisconsin last 5 years Bret Bielema
45-18 Missouri last 5 years Gary Pinkel
45-16 Oregon last 5 years Chip Kelly
45-15 West Virginia last 5 years Bill Stewart
44-17 Cincinnati last 5 years Butch Jones
43-18 Auburn last 5 years Gene Chizik
43-19 Georgia last 5 years Coach Richt
Per the last post, Gene Chizik hasn't been at Auburn for 5 years. Some of those stats are attributed to Tuberville. Get your facts straight.
Now that I read the post, that can be said for a lot of the teams and coaches on there. Brian Kelly was at Cincinnati before Butch Jones. Did you do any research?
Winning Percentage Coach at Current School :
.934 # 1 Chris Petersen Boise State 57-4 year 5
.863 # 2 Chip Kelly Oregon 19-3 year 2
.828 # 3 Urban Meyer Florida 63-13 year 6*
.822 # 4 Jim Tressel Ohio State 102-22 year 10
.805 # 6 Bob Stoops Oklahoma 124-30 year 12
.804 # 7 Mack Brown Texas 132-32 year 13
.800 # 5 Nick Saban Alabama 40-10 year 4*
.786 # 9 Les Miles LSU 59-16 year 6*
,772 # 10 Gary Patterson TCU 95-28 year 11
.770 # 9 Brian Kelly Cincinnati 37-11 year 4
.750 # 11 Joe Paterno Penn State 400-132-3 year 45
.748 # 12 Mark Richt Georgia 95-32 year 10*
The list clearly says
OVER LAST 5 YEARS NOW THIS SEASON
and I list the current coach
D.A.
You are so FOS
Auburn is 43-18 over last 5 years
Yes Gene Chizik is the coach there now, today.
These programs are ALL BETTER FOOTBALL PROGRAMS than The Georgia Bulldogs over the last 5 years.
There is NO SPIN you can put on it that we are
NOT GETTING THE DAMN JOB DONE, son.
You cannot dream up excuses for the fact that the Georgia Football Program is # 19 in the nation for a program that is in the state which finds but 3 others in all of America who have more high school recruits who go on to the NFL.
Per Hershel Walker, we don't recruit this state well, losing out on top recruits in this state. He named Cam Newton, for an example.
Per Herschel Walker, we lose too many games. We are # 19 in the nation over the last 5 years as a football program compared to all the other football programs in America. Each has a head coach now today.
Per Herschel Walker, we have NO DISCIPLINE. Only 1 other program has more Arrests / Suspensions after the 2005 season through today than The University of Georgia Bulldogs' Football Program. We also are Fulmer Cup National Champions this year with 12 Arrests since just March 7.
Now, squirm in your little seat telling me how I DO NOT DO MY RESEARCH while you sit there with NO RESEARCH. NONE. Not to mention, my research is 100 percent correct.
You have not found 1 error in the research.
It is ORIGINAL RESEARCH I did over a cup of coffer this morning.
And, you have NO REPLY.
You WANT TO make EXCUSES for it. There are NONE.
You keep asking me the same question.
Who is it who is a better coach than Coach Richt.
I listed 19 football programs with Coach Richt LAST over the last 5 years in won / lost # 19 program in won / lost over the last 5 years.
I listed 12 coaches at their current school who have a better winning percentage than Coach Richt at his CURRENT SCHOOL including Coach Richt FOURTH BEST (4TH) IN THE SEC.
(1) There are 18 better football programs over the last 5 years than us.
(2) There are 11 better football coaches at their current school than Coach Richt at his CURRENT SCHOOL.
(3) There is 1 football program worse at Arrests / Suspensions over the last 5 years than our own.
(4) We continue to lose out on top recruits in this state especially on offense when Georgia tek certainly doesn't get any of them.
But, look genius you know so much about research (with no visible evidence ever of any), who do you think knows more about college football you or Herschel Walker on these 4 points ?
Go ahead tell me how great we are now, please.
Two kids arguing on a blog...fail...
BuLLdawg you've been outed.ALL dawg fans know who we beat this year and you don't.You listed Colorado when the team was Louisiana-Laf.When mommy gives you more computer time go back to looking up cheat codes for your X- box.
LIAR,
I listed at 1:19 am :
QUOTE :
Have not beat a team with a Winning record ?
1-8 Idaho State
2-7 Louisiana Lafayette
2-7 Vandie
3-6 vols
5-5 Kentucky
15-33 combined record all teams win
3-6 Colorado beat us
END QUOTE
I also listed that WINNING over the following teams means nothing :
QUOTE :
A win over these is also worthless :
3-6 Colorado
1-8 Idaho State
2-7 Vandie
3-6 vols
5-5 Kentucky
That is why there are
BAD LOSSES
END QUOTE.
This was in reply to your B.S. that a WIN is a WIN and a LOSS is a LOSS.
It is NOT.
Had we beat Colorado to MAKE MY POINT, opening your mouth to switch feet, trying to LIE YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS MESS THIS FOOTBALL PROGRAM IS IN AND HAS BEEN IN AFTER 2005 (This is 2010 and STILL COUNTING.), the win would have counted as NOTHING.
We didn't.
As I pointed out.
We lost to flipping Colorado a 3-6 team.
That is A
HORRIBLE LOSS
Thank you very much for making my point.
Yeah, buLLdawg is getting very annoying. Nobody can understand your posts because they hardly contain any coherent sentences. Give it a rest. I come on this blog to read up on the happenings of UGA sports, not to read about your disappointment in my alma mater.
I came in here to read your lies and excuses about my alma mater being so flipping great at football, and how all the arrests and suspensions are all the Police's fault.
And, how you prefer Christian Coach Richt and his staff you want all of fired in a 12-month span to every other coach in America.
How we are going to beat Florida.
How we are going to beat South Carolina
How we are going to go undefeated vs SEC East at 13-12 vs SEC East last 5 years
How we recruit so well
How we have more talent than every team in America
And, still lose to all of them
10 loses in 2 years and counting...
BuLLdawg you realize anybody can take any coaches numbers who has coached long enough and take parts of there career and make them look bad. I could go get Nick Sabans career numbers right now and make Richt look like a far better coach. I'm not saying he is but you can do anything with numbers. Do you know who has a higher career winning percentage between Saban and Richt?
If you think Richt is a bad coach which you obviously do then you must think the entire history of UGA football has been bad. If you think Dooley is the best Ga coach ever I can come up with bad numbers from Dooleys tenure that dwarf Richts numbers.
