Mason plays, scores

Let the record show that with 2:42 left in the third quarter, freshman Hutson Mason entered the game as Georgia's quarterback.

And seven seconds later, on the very next play, Mason completed a 26-yard pass to Logan Gray for a touchdown.

You know, I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and say that wasn't a bad start to Mason's career.

And how about the irony of Gray catching it? The whole reason Mason is playing, rather than redshirting, is Gray's move to receiver.

At a minimum, Mason now has experience, and Georgia can move forward knowing it will use Mason behind Aaron Murray. Seems like the right move by the coaches. Mason can always redshirt next year.

I'll take credit for this. Thanks for passing the word to the coaches, Seth.

Big Ups to the coaching staff. Burning the redshirt this early in the year makes it much easier to make a decision to play Mason if Murray is a little hurt.
