Some coverage-related notes

A few housekeeping items to run by y’all:

- This shouldn’t affect anything, but the name of the Twitter handle is changing from @bulldogsblog to @sethemerson. My bosses and I just felt it best reflected everything going on with our coverage. (Witness Brandon Boykin calling me “Mr. Blog Man” last week.) But the name change doesn’t alter anything, no followers dropped. It’s basically like changing the picture (which I’m doing too.)

- There may be some other changes soon to the blog and online coverage. We’re looking for ways to expand and improve on what we do, and yes, that includes trying to figure out a way to consolidate the blogs into just one form. Not sure I can promise anything, but we’re working on it.

- I plan to post a mailbag the old way on Thursday – by answering your submitted questions. The way we did it last week, by answering your questions in the comments section, worked OK too, but some people prefer it the old way. So for the time being, we’ll mix it up, unless and until one form becomes the clear preference.

So in the meantime, feel free to submit questions to me via email (semerson@macon.com) or in the comment section below.

Seth, you should really embrace “Mr. Blog Man”. It could catch on like "The Sports Guy". Although hopefully you wouldn't become as self-indulgent and lazy.

Oh yeah, what I had suggested a while back about the mailbag was to have a blog posting that just says, "I'm gonna do a mailbag. Leave your questions in the comment section." Then later you come back and answer those submitted questions in another post in the typical, old school mailbag fashion.

Guthrie's or Zaxby's?

I laughed out loud when I read "Mr. Blog Man." I understand why it might bother you. Thanks for the notice on the changes.

Seth am I the only one who was disappointed in the Dexter season finale? Actually the whole season was a disappointment to me. They just seemed to of taken the easy way out on every single plot twist. This was the best chance for Deb to see some of what Dexter really is! The finale was boring and a little bit too happy and perfect for my liking. Yet everyone I talked to and everyone on the web seemed to like it....

ChrisDawg, I was disappointed too. I was hoping that
- stop here if you don't want a spoiler -
we'd have a major revelation, like Debra finding out about Dexter. (Although it seems her boyfriend is pretty close to knowing.)
The problem is the entire season was flawed, in that the writers couldn't come up with a "wow" storyline. They were establishing, with the Lumen character, that Dexter's pennance for his killing is that he can never have a soulmate, or find love. (Hence Rita last year).
Also, see that real life Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are divorcing? Wonder what effect that might have.

I don't even watch Dexter, but I saw that Julia Styles broke up the marriage. That's gonna be an awkward set next season.

Seth, if you are into character stories and zombies, I highly recommend you check out AMC's "The Walking Dead." The first season was very good.

The Walking Dead was excellent. And you can recognize a lot of Atlanta landmarks on the show.

The return of David Hale!!! Who really gives a rat's ass about the TV programs?? This should be first, last, and always a sports blog. Like JUCO players' names being dropped with no previous mention (you do know that JUCOs exist, Seth, or are the "LOST" with DEXTER?? There are dozens of topics being ignored..by the by, the CMR press conference was covered almost verbatim by no less than three writers on Dawgbone, today!! Guys, get a TV Guide or Soaps mag if you have to have those discussions! Cheez!!

Mr. Blog Man, For the mailbag- I just watched the Richt press conference at georgiadogs.com. I noticed a significant improvement in the quality of the sound, lighting and speed of the video download. Is this a McGarity influence or did Claude just figure out how to host a higher quality presser on his own?

OldFart55,

Discussing CFB isn't exactly finding a cure for cancer or brokering peace accords. I've never watched Lost or Dexter, but I don't feel the need to whine about it if other folks wanta discuss it. Perhaps it's you who needs to find another place to go. God forbid you have to scroll past something on a free blog.

OldDawg55,

If you don't recall, David Hale frequently and briefly talked about TV shows and off-topic material in the blog. And like you said, you can find every single bit of Bulldog info over the the dawgbone. If you don't like it here, don't read it!

Otherwise, keep up the good work, Seth. Don't try to be like Hale, cause you will fail. But I like what you're doing, so keep on keeping on.
