Dawgs in the Draft

Thought this was worth noting -- Mel Kiper's most recent Top 5's by position.

There are a bunch of Bulldogs that make the list -- though most are juniors.

Fullback Brannan Southerland is the only Georgia senior to make Mel's list, but Matthew Stafford, Knowshon Moreno, Geno Atkins and Asher Allen all make his list of top juniors.

I think it's interesting to note, too, how few top-level senior QBs will be entering the draft this year. That's probably a bad sign for Stafford's return.

"That's probably a bad sign for Stafford's return."

Just my $.02, but I doubt that he will leave because there aren't many top QBs leaving. He'll be #1 whenever he goes. He isn't from a poor family so he has less financial reason to leave early. The only thing that I think will make a difference is whether we win the MNC this year. If we do, he may go because he would have no other goals to accomplish and it will be time. But if we don't, I think he comes back, because I think he wants to get that MNC next year.

Completely off topic and I know its early but the polls coming out this week show exactly why college football needs a playoff.

First off, from this week to last week USC lost a #1 vote to Oklahoma and neither played a game.

Second, Ohio St. is ranked ahead of Auburn. Does anyone really think that even if Auburn went to Ohio St. to play they wouldn't win by 2 touchdowns?!?!

Third, I get USC jumping us, but does Oklahoma really deserve to jump us because they dominated the early part of my schedule where their 3 opponents have a combined 3 wins?

Just my opinion, and its a blog and that's what its here for. Good win for UGA, HAVE TO STOP THE PENALTIES or we will lose @ LSU.

The problem is that it's very likely Commish Goodell is trying to cut down on rookie pay levels for top picks. Coming out this year versus next year could be a difference of 15 million to Stafford.
