A rebound on the diamond?
The Georgia baseball team reached a baby-steps kind of benchmark on Sunday.
The Bulldogs swept No. 24 Mississippi State, lifting their SEC record to 6-3. That means they have already exceeded their league win total from last year, when they went 5-23.
Georgia (14-14) is also two wins away from equaling its overall win total from last year's dismal record. The next two games are Tuesday and Wednesday against Charleston Southern, followed by a weekend series at Ole Miss.
Junior Tyler Maloof, who retired all three batters in the ninth on Sunday, leads the SEC with 11 saves.

How is Johnathan Taylor doing? A day doesn't pass that I don't wonder. There has been an unusual dearth of reporting about his condition and prognosis.
