Crowell's teammate commits to Georgia

Quintavius Harrow decided not to wait until the weekend to make it official. The linebacker from Columbus Carver High School made his commitment to Georgia on Wednesday, according to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer.

Harrow is the teammate of perhaps Georgia's biggest recruiting target, tailback Isaiah Crowell. Harrow was offered a scholarship last week by the Bulldogs, and is slated to make his official visit this weekend - along with Crowell.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Harrow becomes the 19th commitment for Georgia.

I hope this pays off. 6' 180 lb linebackers generally don't play in the SEC on Saturdays.

Maybe since he is committed, he can work on Isaiah really hard this weekend about joining him at UGA. I really think if UGA can land Crowell and Rome, the other big fish they're after will follow. Could be an exciting couple of weeks for us Dawg fans!

@anon: I would be surprised if Thomas Davis was more than a 6'1" 180 lb linebacker when he got here.

Harrow has played DB and I figure thats where we want him.

Harrow will play safety and work with the special teams for some time. I've seen 5'11", 195 and 6", 180...which is it..of course, he'll grow some when he gets here..plus he's supposed to be very fast. Have we given up on Gabe Wright, another Carver player?

actually, Mr. Davis was 6'3" and came in a dash over 200. Rennie Curran probably would be a better match.

But yeah, kid probably won't play LB in a 3-4. Not big enough. Most likely going to be a special teamer or maybe a SS, if he's got the speed.

I appreciate that this is significant to Crowell, but what message does your headline send the kid that he's "Crowell's teammate?" He earned a scholarship to UGA... Can't his name make the headline?

And at least according to Scout.com, he's fast enough. They have him at 5'10"/180/4.46, and they list him at Safety.

My guess is if he really is that fast, he plays FS or maybe a little nickel/dime depending on his coverage skills.

I know he's not Zander but I could see there Ga careers going in a similar direction. Everyone thinks they were only signed because of there brother or best friend and they turn out to not be that bad.

I bet Harrow will be a big ime special teams player. Possibly as early as next year. He's not gonna have an ego or expect anything like some of these four star recruits. Hes a great athlete.

Harrow is a sleeper. Watch! You people that believe the diahrea that you read at the AJC need to understand that offers are not thrown away. We are better off without Da'Rick. get over it.

Crowell is now off the hook. He can go anywhere at this point. If he goes to AL or AU, UGA better keep their end with respect to Harrow. Otherwise, they lose more than just Crowell...... Knowutumsayin'?

What a joke this will be if Crowell does chose Mark Richts sinking ship.

Another freaking 5-11, 180 pounder! Jesus, can't Richt produce anything better? The kid had ONE offer....ONE. Not GA Southern, Not Bethune-Cookmman, Not Mercer, not Blinn College.....but THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA. I guess I'll trust that Richt can find the daimond in the rough! F.Me Running!

Harrow better turn out to be the next Tim Jennings.

We won't oversign, and all our competitors in the West are doing it. Plus, we still have to catch up with several competitors in the East. So we have to make every spot count, and Richt has done a poor job of that, the last 2-3 years, especially.

Player evaluation has been a weakness of ours, along with losing the best players in Georgia to the competition. It's a deadly combination. We still have another year of two before we finish getting rid of the dead wood we already have.

We can't afford to be adding more, for ANY reason.

Most you on here need to start realizing that everyone in Bulldog Nation is in sales. If he is close friends with your top target and you are bashing this offer, what fo you think it says to your top target. Oh and don't forget most of you have been bashing going after the 4-5 stars and saying we should go get the 3 stars who have something to prove....Well if he was a linbacker in HS and has speed enough for saftey then its up to him him to earn playing time...

Guys,

You all need to calm down this kid is a sure tackler and a hell of a hitter. Not to mention a 3yr starter at Carver. His film is pretty good and he will contribute.

Anon 9:03 is correct. Watch his highlight video if you have access to it. He looks very fast and will be a great special teams player. His strength seems to be solid tackling in traffic and laying a pretty good hit at the same time. He needs to add some muscle, as he looks a little soft right now. Could play strong safety if he fill out. Don't be hard on the kid he has plenty of potential.

We have also had a good deal of time to evaluate his abilities while recruiting Crowell. There is a reason he was offered other than his best friend.

At the very least watch his highlight video and then you can comment. Otherwise you have no idea what you are talking about.
