Morning Practice Update (8/13)
Not a lot to report from practice this morning, mostly because there was no practice this morning.
Georgia's players showed up ready to go, but head coach Mark Richt informed them they'd be spending the morning in the pool instead.
With rainy weather outside and a week-and-a-half of practice under their belts, Richt said he thought it was a good time for a break. So the entire team -- including Richt -- spent the morning working on dives and hanging out in the pool at the Ramsey Center.
Highlights from the pool session included freshman safety Baccari Rambo having to be coaxed off the high dive and two impressive flips off the high dive for Richt. Knowshon Moreno scored Richt's dives a perfect 10.
Other info from post-practice interviews:
-- Josh Davis says he's ready to go at left tackle, but said he already feels the weight of responsibility left by Trinton Sturdivant's injury.
-- Kiante Tripp said he has only taken a handful of snaps at left tackle, but would be willing to play anywhere on the line if the coaches ask. He said he played both left and right tackle in high school and didn't think the transition would be a tough one.
-- Brannan Southerland said he'll visit a doctor Monday and hoped to be out of the protective boot he has had to wear by mid-week.
More news to follow after this afternoon's session (which begins at 4:30) and I'll have a links and Dawgs to Watch post shortly.
