And for your football fix ...

Don't worry, I'm sure this won't be the final blog post about football the rest of the day.

Before anyone asks, yes I've heard that Georgia may be closing in on a new offensive line coach. UAB's Will Friend, a former Alabama lineman, is getting the most mention, but I haven't been able to confirm anything.

As of 10 a.m., Georgia didn't have anything imminent to announce. Spokesman Claude Felton said head coach Mark Richt was heading to New York for a clinic on Friday, assuming the weather cooperates. UAB spokesman Norm Reilly also said there was no news on his end. That doesn't mean there couldn't be an announcement on Friday, it just means ... well who knows.

Meanwhile, ESPN.com is out with a post-signing day top 25, and guess where Georgia comes in? The Bulldogs are No. 18, a reflection of their recruiting haul.

Mark Schlabach, who compiled the list, writes:

The Bulldogs remain in the hunt for juco defensive tackle Jonathan Jenkins, who will sign with either UGA or Florida on Saturday and could be the key to coordinator Todd Grantham's 3-4 scheme. Georgia plays only three true road games (at Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt) and plays Boise State in Atlanta and Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.

Georgia's first two opponents, Boise State and South Carolina, check in at No. 8 and No. 15, respectively, on that list.

Can't wait! I have a good feeling about next year. If we can just get through our first 2 games with wins I really think it could end up being a special season. I have faith in Mark Richt, I always have.

But isn't ESPN a TV channel?

Takeaways from the World Wide Leader's early poll is 1) Boise will probably be a top ten ranked team who is ranked higher than Georgia when we play ( I doubt Vegas will see it this way) and 2) South Carolina ( ranked 15 ) and Georgia ( ranked 18 ) are the highest ranked teams from the SEC east making them the early co-favorites to win it. When you take into account Georgia gets Carolina at home and doesn't play Bama, LSU or Arkansas, the 3 highest rated SEC teams in the poll and Carolina also has to play Arky on the road, I would say Georgia is the early favorite in the SEC east. Florida plays Bama, LSU and Auburn in 3 consecutive weeks so their schedule favors us also.

But we will lose to UF like every year.

I do not think we are favored to win 7 games next year much less win the east. We will once again lose to the gators and probably be six and six. Then we will see. Our only hope is if the defense keeps everyone under six points. See UCF.

Best we spend the summer in S&C with group practices promoting a team spirit to get past Boise St. They already are practicing as a team because that's how they are successful.

Hope everyone carries a memory of the last meeting where their QB was touted as a Heisman candidate before the game, but never again after that game. They remember as well that they were routed and are tipping their spear with revenge. Let's see- 8th ranked team with a hardon. Nice to hear LeMay say that the game's on in S&C. Now with a few get togethers on our own led by our intrepid QB we should begin immediately to pick up lost ground on this single- minded opponent. Hope so.

HAHAHA nothing like a positive post to bring out the negative Nancys and imposter fans. I guess y'all don't watch the games next year since you already know who's going to win! But guess what? They're going to play the games anyway! HAHAHA

Boise is so great blah blah blah, the secret to Boise is they play teams like Hawaii every week in their sorry conference. Remember how over matched Hawaii was against Georgia? Remember what Georgia did to Boise last time? Expect a repeat.
