Washaun Ealey reinstated to football team

The suspension of leading rusher Washaun Ealey from the Georgia football team only ended up lasting a few weeks.

Georgia announced on Saturday that Ealey had been reinstated "to full team standing."

"Over the past few weeks, Washaun has done the things we expect him to do the things we expect all our players to do," Richt said in a statement. "He's been doing things the Georgia way, and will rejoin team activities Monday."

Ealey's suspension from team activities was announced on Feb. 8. The tailback, who would be a junior next season, was reportedly disciplined for missing a punishment run. But he said at the time that he wanted to return to the team.

Ealey, Caleb King, Carlton Thomas and Ken Malcome are set to get the carries in spring practice, which begins March 10. But incoming recruit Isaiah Crowell, who arrives in the summer, has a great chance to start, according to Richt.

Good for Washaun...we could use a though runner in the competition for running back.

Should have sent this team a message and kicked his trouble making rear end off the team. Just goes to show not much has changed at Richts Boys Home of the South.

Ealey will send Richt a message and transfer. If anyone should be given PUNISHMENT runs for "lack of effort" in the weight room, try AJ Green or Aaron Murray.

Richt's favortism is going to bite him again. Lemay puts on 10 lbs at QB, Murray, 5, and Murray gets injured played soccer, yet Murray not given punishment runs.

Anon 6:25,

I find it laughable, your knowledge of which players work hard in the weight room. Never mind the fact that AJ Green is going pro and cannot be "punished" by UGA (or the NCAA), but it's obvious how tough a competitor Aaron Murray is.

Either the dumbest Georgia fans have begun frequenting this blog, or we're getting trolled again. These comments regarding Aaron Murray are absolutely hilarious.

Whats absolutely hilarious is UGA getting beat by Mickey Mouse U 10 - 6 in a bowl game.

Exactly why should we punish a college kid for doing something he is perfectly allowed to do? Also as far as LeMay putting on a few more pounds this spring than what Murray has done, the easiest time for a player to put on added pounds is when he first gets on campus as it is the biggest shock to the body. I am sure the five pounds Murray put on is not the only five he has gained since arriving on campus a couple years ago. As for Green, first he is gone from the team, second HUH? I never once heard anyone say that he didn't put in the effort and actually read quite often that he never let the fact that he had as much talent as he did slow down how hard he worked. He was on TV the other day trying to get himself ready for the NFL combine and working hard despite the fact that he is already considered the best WR in the draft. Feel free to make as many negative comments as you want, it is a free country, but please try to have some type of reason in your statements.

Its almost a joke and a complete waste of time to even read these comments sometimes. Either the worlds dumbest fans post comments or ......well you would just have to be the worlds dumbest fan.
favoritism??? Mickey mouse U??? Ealey transfer?? Or the lack of effort from a Guy that's gone and a qb that had as much heart as anyone on the team last year. Wait there us a reason to read these comments. PURE COMEDY!

Would he PLEASE quit using the phrase "The Georgia Way"! It sounds so freaking pompous and it rings of hypocrisy because in the past it really hasn't shown in discipline or results. How about just saying "the right way" coach.
