Monday night update on Johnathan Taylor

After undergoing neck surgery on Monday, Georgia junior outfielder Johnathan Taylor will be transferred to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta later this week to continue his rehab.

The Shepherd Center is a private, non-profit hospital that specializes in spinal cord injuries.

In a release, UGA said Taylor's surgery on Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens was to stabilize his spine.

A web site has been set up for those who want to send Taylor messages and get updates. It can be found at:

www.caringbridge.org/visit/Johnathantaylor.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to J.T. and his family during this difficult time,” Georgia head coach David Perno said in a statement. “J.T. is very tough and that is going to help him during his recovery.”

Taylor was injured in an outfield collision during the third inning of Sunday's game against No. 5 Florida State.

Seth, as far as you know, was there ever any paralysis?

Sounds like there wasn't.

Still, horrific injury and I hope he has a full recovery.

Shepherd Center is THE very best.

I agree with anon. If you don't have a firm grasp on the english language, then you shouldn't be a journalist.

Hey, anonymous.

Sentence is spelled incorrectly.

S E N T E N C E.

Words spelled incorrectly drive me crazy. As do idiots.

according to my sources, either website or web site is correct.

I'm sure anon 10:33 is one of those folks who screams to fire the coach every time the Dawgs loose a game.

Poor young man has a serious neck injury and a bunch of yayhoos show up to debate grammar. Here's hoping for good news regarding Mr. Taylor.
