Marcus Thornton out with arm injury
So I'm walking into Stegeman Coliseum a few minutes ago, and notice that Georgia freshman forward Marcus Thornton not only isn't in uniform, but his entire right arm is wrapped in bandage.
Obviously Thornton will not play tonight against LSU. His long-term prognosis, and the exact nature of his injury, are not known yet. When I get word I'll update this space.
Thornton has played in all 28 games off the bench, and is averaging 1.7 points and 2.8 rebounds a game. His absence should mean more playing time for Donte' Williams, a freshman who has been the team's third post option off the bench, after Chris Barnes and Thornton.
Trey Thompkins was in uniform, though he came out of the locker room a bit late. The star forward was receiving some sort of treatment Tuesday, which the team said was the reason he missed media interviews.
