Happy St. Patty's Day to everyone. Hopefully you haven't thrown up any green beer just yet.
And of course, a happy first day of spring practice, which is an even bigger holiday for UGA fans. I'll have lots of football related updates throughout the day.
And finally, happy birthday to Kris Durham, who I'm sure will receive no special treatment from Joe Cox during their first day of workouts.
To get your day started right, here's a pot o' gold -- err, links -- that will go great with a tall glass of Guinness...
-- As spring practice begins, plenty of Georgia's most burning questions won't be answered because of the number of players still out with injuries.
-- SouthernPigskin.com has a Jeff Owens-style interview with Joe Cox in which we learn that his favorite movie is "Anchorman." I'm trapped in a glass case of emotion!
-- The AJC's Tim Tucker offers five key storylines for spring practice. Chattanooga's David Paschall does the same.
-- I had mentioned several times this offseason about how Mark Richt's regret that he was soft during practices last year would translate into this year's new attitude. Now the AJC's Jeff Schultz confirms it.
-- Bleacher Report looks at some of the key position battles for Georgia this offseason.
-- I wrote about the comparisons between D.J. Shockley and Joe Cox yesterday, but here's your chance to get a firsthand account: Shockley will be a guest at the Atlanta International Auto Show on Friday. (h/t Matt H.)
-- Louisiana-Monroe has hired a former UGA graduate assistant to coach its safeties in 2009.
-- If you're personally offended by the political posturing during the economic crisis we're currently in, this will be enough to make you consider voting Libertarian in 2010.
-- Bernie's Dawg Blawg takes a look at the Oklahoma State recruiting story that got started over at the AJC by Michael Carvell.
-- Lane Kiffin finally landed a big fish.
-- Mark Bradley discusses the coaching vacancy at UGA, but spends more time pointing out the fact that Georgia Tech's program is in the hands of an extraordinarily overpaid coach.
-- Chip Towers looks around his brackets and sees a lot of potential coaches for UGA.
-- Despite two losses against Alabama last weekend, Georgia's baseball team remains in the top five in the latest polls.
-- Sad story from the other side of the state: A University of West Georgia football player was killed in a car accident on his way to spring break.
-- As a Cubs fan, this story on Mark Prior makes me want to go out and drink six gallons of Jameson's.
-- And yet another nail in the coffin of newspapers. This is a shame because, after the New Orleans Times-Picayune, this was my favorite newspaper name.
-- And finally, check out this list of the best sandwiches in the U.S. I've never been to the No. 1 spot, but I find it hard to believe Pittsburgh has a better cheesesteak than Philly.OK, no go kiss someone who's Irish.
