Softball Set For Title Run
A few quotes from Georgia's softball team, courtesy of our pal Fletcher Page, as the Bulldogs get set to open their quest for a national championship at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City against defending champs Washington tomorrow night at 9:30...
Pitcher Sarah McCloud on the team's approach to the WCWS: "I think once we made last year, we went to compete, but now this year we’ve been there and we want to do better. I think out expectations are higher this year. Last year our goal was to make the World Series, this year it’s to win."
McCloud on the veteran leadership: "I think a lot of people have stepped up as leader. Taylor Schlopy, Megan Wiggins, Bree Hesson and Alisa Goler. We all do a great job in that role, and playing as leaders. The one good thing about not having any seniors is we don’t have to lose anyone. We don’t have to say goodbye to anyone after this week. That’s kind of nice to know that everyone here now is going to be back next season."
Outfielder Taylor Schlopy on the team's youth: "We realized we didn’t have any seniors early. We’ve all stepped up, and found our role within the team, and everyone has come together to become one unit. We don’t really focus on not having seniors. We just work with what we have, and I think we have a great group of girls who are very talented. Each person has their role, and does it very well."
Schlopy on this year vs. last year: "Last year, of course with it being our first time ever going, everyone was excited to just make it there. It was a blessing that we finished third, but this year we’re out to win. We’re returning, and we know the feeling of how great third felt, so we can’t even imagine how great first would feel. It’s been our goal the entire season."
Schlopy on the team's motivation: "Like any college team, the goal is to win the national championship. After last year, it was a bigger point to our program. It drove all the returners and the coaches, pushing us to practice harder, and want it more. We instilled that in the freshmen and transfers of how great it’s going to feel when they get there. They all got on board early in the season, and we just had one common goal, and that’s what we’re going to do this coming week."

Good luck, grrls! Very proud of them all.
Appreciate the outreach, but, respectfully, 99% of your readers don't care.
If there isn't already, I think that a blog for softball, women's b-ball, etc. would find a few followers. I just doubt that there's a lot of overlap between that hypothetical blog and your readership.
