Former Dawgs Invade the Bookstores

If you're as avid about reading books about the Bulldogs as you are about blogs, this is a good weekend for you. A bevy of former Bulldogs and authors will be around the Athens area for book signings. Here's the run down...

At the UGA bookstore on Saturday, Larry Munson will be on hand to sign copies of "From Herschel to a Hobnail Boot" and legendary tailback Herschel Walker will be signing copies of his book, "Breaking Free." Both signings will be going on from 10 a.m. until noon.

Former head coach and athletics director Vince Dooley will be signing copies of his book, "Dooley's Play Book" and former quarterback Fran Tarkenton will be signing copies of "Every Day is Game Day" at the UGA bookstore from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Former kicker Kevin Butler and former quarterback David Greene will be signing autographs -- although not books, unless you really want them to -- as well from 1:30 until 2:30 on Saturday at the UGA bookstore.

In addition, former AJC beat writer and current ESPN college football writer Mark Schlabach will be signing copies of his new book on the Bulldogs, "Georgia Football: Yesterday and Today" at Dog Ear Books in Madison on Friday night from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The book has a forward by Vince Dooley and is not yet available for sale online. The store is located at 142 Academy Street in Madison. Phone number is 706-342-3460.

Have fun, and happy reading!

I wonder when Schlabach is going to come out with a book about trying to destroy one's alma mater by advancing his career?
