Dawgs Soccer Heads to Tourney
From UGA Athletics:
The Georgia Bulldog soccer team learned Monday night it will continue its season into the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs were seeded in the Stanford Regional and will face James Madison in the first round of the postseason. Should the Bulldogs win they will face the winner of Morehead State and Wake Forest, the No. 3 seed and host site, in second round play.
It is the second time in program history the Bulldogs (11-10-1, 7-3-1) have been selected in back-to-back years. Georgia was last selected in back to back years in 1997 and 1998. Last season, Georgia finished with an 18-4-2 record and was one of the host sites for the first and second round games.
Overall, the Bulldogs are 4-5-1 in their five NCAA Tournament appearances. The Bulldogs have never faced James Madison, a representative of the Colonial Athletic.
The NCAA Tournament first round matchups will be held Friday with the second round games scheduled for Sunday.
