Wikipedia Calls it for Kirby

I'm sure this will get changed pretty quickly, but gotta love this entry on Kirby Smart's Wikipedia page.

Under his "Coaching Career" bio, this is the final paragraph:

"In January of 2010, he is destined to become the savior of the Bulldawg Nation when he returns to Athens to become Georgia's defensive coordinator. With a $2 million a year contract, he also will become the nation's highest paid assistant coach. Please, please open the wallet Damon. Please, Please come home Kirby!"

And in related news, the population of endangered African elephants has tripled in the last six months.

That's great! I love dueling Wikipedia edits. At least until they lock down the article.

On a slightly different note, David, do you know how much of Alabama's defense is run by Saban? That is, Smart looks like a very good DC this year, but how much of that is really credit to Saban?

Anon, from what I've been told, Kirby has a strong hand in it. But the fact that you don't know that is probably the biggest reason why Kirby would leave.

They've also edited the timeline on the right side now to include the UGA DC job.
Great stuff

This reminds me of last year's wikipedia about Willie Martinez. I actually have a copy of the webpage that I copied and pasted because it was hilarious. It basically said "soon to be fired Willie Martinez" and talked a lot of trash. David, care for a copy of it? It's great.

Well, Matt, part of me thinks that Willie's been through enough. But then again, funny is funny. So yes, yes I do.
