Brent Benedict is headed to ...

... Virginia Tech, according to a couple reports on Monday night.

Scout.com and Dawg247.com each reported that Benedict had committed to the ACC school. Benedict, who redshirted last year at Georgia, announced last month that he was transferring.

There had been some thought that Benedict, a native of the Jacksonville area, would eye Florida. But he instead will go to Virginia Tech, where he visited this past weekend. He told Scout.com's Chad Simmons he would be in Blacksburg in August.
