Thanks to everyone for the questions, and sorry I couldn't get to them all. Feel free to offer any feedback on whether you like doing it today's way (comments and then I answer in the comments section) or the older way.
I'll have to end the feature for today, thanks to the fact that I now have no heat in my house. Seems the people at SCANA and/or Atlanta Gas and Light can't be troubled to send a technician over to perform the two-minute task of unhooking a block on a gas pump. (Long story, but when I moved in last August, the account didn't transfer over, yada yada yada. I only discovered this fact this morning.) So for a month or so now I've had heat, no problem, then last night - bam, no heat.
I've already got the sniffles, and since it will take them six days to come over and perform the two-minute task, I'll either have to trek over to a hotel for a week, buy some space heaters, or freeze to death.
Again, thanks SCANA and Atlanta Gas and Light. You all are wonderful. (Updated: Today, you were, seriously.)
Sorry to vent. Anyway, Georgia resumes practice on Saturday, at which point we'll have some notes, quotes and observations for you. Until then .... brrrrrr....
UPDATE: This story has a happy ending. Some nice people at SCANA and Atlanta Gas and Light were able to fit me in today, so the house is now receiving heat again.
I hope it didn't appear to anyone that I was using the blog to try and get something. My house is also my office, so it was kind of an important thing. And once again I thank SCANA and Atlanta Gas and Light for that.
Seth, you can remove that thing yourself or just tell them you have an 80 yr. old lady living with you and they will come and fix it.

ReplyDeleteWhy not just buy an electric blanket? They are relatively cheap. I use one at night because it saves money on gas. I'm not home during the day, so that solves that problem.

Nope, Maryland was a border state. But, as Lrgk9 points out, south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Brandon Spikes suspended the rest of the year in NFL for performance enhancing drugs. I've said all along the "secret" to some teams strength and conditioning is illegal drugs. It goes on in all sports, even UFC had a guy flunk, it's naive to think college football is immune. Don't forget that huge runningback at Ga Tech Dwyer, flunked a drug test right away at the NFL combine.

ReplyDeleteWow, ya really got me - I misspell proper nouns by 1 letter when I've been drinking. But even sober I don't spell that well. I'm not employed because of my good grammar and impeccable spelling. The word that Terry would like with me is "Thanks" for my contributions. But I'm sure that captain of industry anon 8:05 (and his other handles) puts his money where his mouth is too. I tell ya one thing that changed after Hale left is that a number of truly miserable people found this blog.

I'm a little curious as to the disciplining by the coaches for on-the-field gaffes.
Ie. I haven't seen Aron White since that late INT against Florida.
And Caleb didn't make an appearance in the GT game after his fumble.
1) The simple logic is that these are punishments. True?
2) What are the players thoughts on this? Effective? More hurtful because it takes playmakers off the field?
On a side question... any comments on the lack of a RB screen game this season?

ReplyDeleteI completely agree on the RB screen game. We rarely called it, and when we did I could see why we didn't call it. The execution was horrid. While Murray's skills all-around are great, his screen-throwing abilities left something to be desired. He seems like a quick learner though so hopefully that will be cleaned up in spring practice.
Hey Seth I remember before the season started you asked all of us to predict the season. I don't know if there is a way but could you post our predictions and who was the closest?

ReplyDeleteI was on a mobile phone for the previous command so I couldn't elaborate.
ReplyDeleteI think the old way was much better for a number of reasons.
1) When reading the blog on a mobile phone, it is much easier for everything to just load once. Clicking links is not always very easy on a phone, and sometimes links don't even work. It also means you have to constantly click back and forth to read posts which also is slow.
It is far better to just have all the questions and answers on the main page. So you wait for one load, and then you have everything.
2) The whole Q&A was very disjointed. I would read 4 or 5 questions, then an answer to a question 3 questions ago, then 6 more questions, then an answer to a question from the first batch, then 8 more questions, and an answer to something from the third batch, followed by an answer from the second batch.
Basically, it made it feel unorganized and chaotic.
