Spoke briefly to Mark Richt and Mark Fox about their new boss. Neither coach had met Greg McGarity before today.
Richt said McGarity has "everything you could hope for" in a hire.
“I just know that everybody that’s met him and everybody associated with him is very, very excited to get him, and that he’s here. That’s a good sign,” Richt said.
Fox took note that Florida has become a national basketball power while McGarity was there.
“He obviously has been at an institution where basketball and football have co-existed at a very high level. So I think that’s important,” Fox said.
Seth - Are you happy to start covering UGA again right when we get a guy like McGarity? You've been around a while, so I assume you know him or at least his reputation. We're about to have a great year on the gridiron and now we have a leader that'll bring vision and ability. I think one can safely say there's a good chance we're about to make a push for it all, in more than one sport. Not this year, but soon enough. Go Dawgs!
