Morning Practice Update

Two quick things from this morning's practice:

1.) Kiante Tripp spent the early parts of practice working with the first-teamers at left tackle. The first team line-up for the early periods (left to right): Tripp, Vince Vance, Chris Davis, Cordy Glenn, Josh Davis. Not sure how much stock to put into that though.

2.) Georgia could field an entire team of green jersey players. By my count at today's practice, 20 players were in green (10 of whom weren't practicing at all). That's an unofficial count, but I'm certain it's actually low, and it doesn't include players like Trinton Sturdivant, Brannan Southerland or Quintin Banks who are simply out for the next few weeks or more.

Quick run down of greens...

Did not practice: Demarcus Dobbs, Neland Ball, Jeremy Lomax, Justin Houston, Jeremy Longo and Rod Battle (all DEs), WR Walter Hill, RB Kalvin Daniels and TE Bryce Ros.

Practiced: WRs A.J. Green, Michael Moore, Tavarres King and Mo Massaquoi, RB Knowshon Moreno, DE Cornelius Washington, DB Prince Miller, Nick Williams, DL AJ Harmon and DT DeAngelo Tyson.

In fact, Jarius Wynn, Wes Jacobs and Andrew Gulley were the only DEs fully participating in practice.

David,

Any word on how AJ Green hip flexor is bothering him? Is this going to slow him down at the start of the season or is the green jersey precautionary?
With the lack of experience and youth at DE, how concerned is Coach Richt?
Thanks - you're doing a great job!

We'll talk to Richt this afternoon... I think the A.J. Green injury is just nagging him. I think it tends to tighten up on him, but isn't serious. At this point in camp, a lot of this is just precautionary.

Talked to Justin Houston after practice. He said he expects at least half of the DEs to be back at practice by Monday.
