Georgia safety Makiri Pugh has decided to transfer, according to a release from the school Wednesday.
Pugh redshirted his first season in Athens in 2008 and saw minimal playing time in 2009, mostly on special teams. He was part of a crowded field at safety and appeared to be behind Bacarri Rambo, Nick Williams, Jakar Hamilton and Quintin Banks on the depth chart at the position.
“We are appreciative of Makiri’s contributions during his two years at Georgia,” head coach Mark Richt said. “We understand and support his decision to transfer and wish him great success the remainder of his career.”
Good luck, Makiri. Hoping for nothing but the best for you!
ReplyDeleteStrange... My NCAA 10 always thought he was going to be a stud. It always put him returning the kickoffs... I wish him well.
ReplyDeleteWas he in front of Shawn Williams?
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, hope you end up somewhere good but not anywhere we play against you.
ReplyDeleteI saw this one coming. Last year, when Reshad and Evans were hurt during summer practice, he took reps w/ the first team D at safety. Seemed like he he was very talented, just inconsistent? Best of luck to him.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to Makiri. Hope he funds success and some playing time wherever he ends up.
ReplyDeleteSo is this opening up scholarships for us to give to the 2011 class, with Robinson, Mett, and Pugh now gone. I hate to lose these 3 players, but it could help make a great recruiting class.
ReplyDeleteWhen it rains it pours...
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving the team H1N1 last season...
