And that both injuries have been resolved?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-20947608007952233492010-06-15T01:43:39.033-04:002010-06-15T01:43:39.033-04:00Vincent,
I don't recall 2001 so well. But I v...Vincent,
I don't recall 2001 so well. But I vividly remember 2006.

We won a lot of close games against lesser opponents (Miss St, Colorado, etc.)

However, the only reason we lost to UK and to Vandy was because we had Andy Bailey as our placekicker (Coutu had a bad hammy for a few games). I promise you that if our special teams were at full strength, we win those games... Despite an 18 year old QB and assemblage of RBs who hadn't proven themselves as standouts over a full season.

2010 has the experienced OL.
It has the assemblage of 2 RBs who haven't "done it" for a full season. It has the rookie QB. It has the weak schedule.

2010 doesn't have a strong opponent in UT (doesn't mean we win. but I doubt we get blown out for a half like in 2006).

2010 doesn't have a national championship team in UF that beat us by the margin of a fumble recovery for a TD (2006).

I expect a 2 loss season.
However, I know that injuries can play a role in additional losses.

However, even if we go 11-1 I will not fall under the presumption that we are world beaters. We are just facing teams that are more apt to beating themselves.

It's the nature of our schedule.meansonnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16981820787899367594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-71093891288123919452010-06-14T23:34:21.967-04:002010-06-14T23:34:21.967-04:00David, first off let me say I love your blog.
Am I...David, first off let me say I love your blog.
Am I being overly pessimistic in that I expect AT LEAST 4 losses this year? each year we've broken in a freshman QB under Richt we've lost four. Before anyone mentions to me how easy our schedule is I'd like to point out 2001 and 2006 were not very difficult schedules in that 1. We had a fairly easy SEC west rotation and 2. We had a fairly easy OOC schedule.

Throw in the fact that we actually had pretty good defenses, as opposed to one trying to learn a new system, and I just can't be optimistic about this year.
Am I crazy for expecting four or more losses?Vincenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16945233544833105858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-45008835436979733792010-06-14T19:46:01.807-04:002010-06-14T19:46:01.807-04:00It's like they don't even read what you wr...It's like they don't even read what you write.

Maybe you shouldn't even bother with the disclaimers, the explanations, the admissions that it's flawed, etc, etc... but it's not wasted on those of us who read the text that goes along with the numbers.Kathleennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-45127923366561581342010-06-14T17:46:59.310-04:002010-06-14T17:46:59.310-04:00Great job David!

Your chart shows three losses to S.C., Arkansas and Auburn, with a win over the Gators for a 5-3 conference record.
