Lets face it folks- if we were to ...GM is the man. Lets face it folks- if we were to fire Richt this year there aren't any alternatives. GM understood early in the year that Richt would be on the hot seat next year and schedule Boise. Which not only improves our bottom line, but allows him to judge Richt's improvement in the first 2 weeks of the season after those chump gamecocks. If Richt has a rough start I think GM will start making calls. On the other hand.... I think this is just what Richt needs. He has lost some of the fire he showed as a new HC. I think that all of the Fulmer cup talk had him distracted and focusing on things he should never have to deal with in a top notch athletic program. He should have the time to focus on football. Richt and GM have talked about this and developed a plan that will give Richt the best chance to succeed. I think next year Bobo's calls will be largely dependent on Richt with him being more prepared for his opponents. Richt knows he can't afford to change OCs now so he'll be very involved and if he turns things around I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a change next year or soon after. I could be wrong about this, but I believe Georgia football will be back where it belongs next year. If we sign the dream team, the next few years could be something very special.ReservoirDawgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-86363984979862267532011-01-05T15:40:59.702-05:002011-01-05T15:40:59.702-05:00[dawgofdasouth] maybe crowell is the knight in shi...[dawgofdasouth] maybe crowell is the knight in shining armor that saves us all.depends on how well he blocks, richt will not play a back that can't block.he will field an entire ol that can't block but not a running back.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-25139071090753046422011-01-05T14:48:35.116-05:002011-01-05T14:48:35.116-05:00Wow Seth.... you Richt almost pulled a Dick Vermei...Wow Seth.... you Richt almost pulled a Dick Vermeil? what a joke.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-20467189699592489852011-01-05T14:42:59.880-05:002011-01-05T14:42:59.880-05:00This reminds me of George Bush telling Brownie tha...This reminds me of George Bush telling Brownie that he did a great job at FEMA during Katrina. In the meantime, here's hoping that Crowell and a few other game changers all sign in February...that's about the only way I see a major turn around happening.

Love Richt, have supported him longer than most, but there's less and less to hang my hat on these days. Still, I'm hopelessly optimistic, and will be in place for opening kickoff no matter what (not that that makes me special...I know that most of you will still be there too). If we drop the opener, it will be a major uphill battle. If we drop Boise St and South Carolina, the season may well be a wash before we even get through September.

I never did expect specifics from the press conference, just hoped for a little bit more of a feeling that he does have a specific plan. Of course AJ is gone next year, so you use him AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE while he is here! Exploit every advantage that his presence on the field allows. There will be an entire offseason, Spring practice, and Fall practice to scheme and implement your offense sans AJ.

Here's hoping for a productive offseason S & C program, since it seems that will be the focus of the changes in the program.

As always, Go Dawgs!!Middle Georgia Dawgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162716793249150680.post-25835289009999588552011-01-05T13:20:26.077-05:002011-01-05T13:20:26.077-05:00Sorry, but the decisions Damon Evans made (driving...Sorry, but the decisions Damon Evans made (driving drunk, with a female companion who was not his wife, with her panties in his lap), speak volumes about his judgment and leadership abilities.

For a couple of years now, I've seen other UGA fans slam Evans for his scheduling philosophy. Do you really believe that what transpired this morning can be considered a successful public relations event? I don't expect Richt to lay out the specific details of his plan. I do expect him to convince me he has a plan and that his plan has a high probability of success. That would be, I don't know, good public relations. I don't think we heard that this morning. And judging from what I've read so far, neither did anyone else in that room. That's disappointing. It's not like Richt didn't know how much was riding on what he said. I don't want another coach. I want Richt to succeed. I love the man but both he and his program seem to be in a serious funk. My wife, myself and our son are all alumni. We will continue to support the program no matter what. We're dawgs. Period. We'll be in our seats until the clock hits 0:00 even if we field an 0-12 team. However, I expected more this morning and found myself disappointed.
